The Location
Lodge Bellavista is located at the edge of Nyamiteza’s crater lake; it is a crater lake among the 25 craters from Fort Portal leading to Kasese. Through Google Earth you can see them clearly. Kasunganyanja village, at 40 km from Fort Portal on the road leading to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, is the point where you should turn to your left. Proceed for less than 2 kilometers and you reach Lodge Bella Vista.
The most taking aspect of the lodge is its vicinity to the lake within the crater on one side and the view of the Rwenzori Mountain on the opposite side, all this in a complete green environment. The lodge is along the most important tourist road in Uganda and a stop over to spend a night or for a lunch is quite an opportunity for a tourist moving from the Murchison Falls towards Fort Portal and the National Parks on the south like Kibaale Forest renowned for its Chimpanzees, the Rwenzori National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Lake View Restaurant
The restaurant is located at the best panoramic site, food can be served also in the rooms and the cuisine can offer international food with an essential Italian touch. It is possible to have pizza baked in a firewood oven, macaroni, Lasagna together with salads.
All vegetables are cultivated in the vicinity. Meat and fish are also from the local markets. It is also possible to relax at the first floor of the hut located at the highest point of the lodge and admiring the environment with a predominant green made by banana plantations and exotic trees like mangoes and avocado.
Rooms
The lodge has got 10 rooms, three of these have got a loft in wood so that the visitors can sleep on the upper part to admire the unique landscape. The room has got the possibility to host up to four people.
Other 3 rooms have got a dining table and a sitting room offering an independent accommodation and a full level of privacy. The water supplied to the lodge, located at an altitude of 1.320 meters, descends from the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountain of the Moon with the highest pick called Margherita at 5.109 meters.
